While in Lockdown
My first project was not school-related. I founded While In Lockdown, a small business specializing in handmade resin accessories such as keychains, trinket trays, and bookmarks, as well as trendy non-resin items like tote bags and custom cups. Over the years, I’ve grown the business through consistent branding, product development, and community engagement. My products are currently featured in local retail stores, including Forks Trading Company and The Floral Merchant, and participated in artisan markets across Winnipeg.
Why the name While in Lockdown?
Once upon a time, I was a crafty soul with a passion for creating—but then adulting happened. Bills, responsibilities, and the daily grind slowly nudged my creativity to the back burner.
Fast forward to March 2020—cue the world hitting pause. My first global pandemic, a province-wide lockdown, and a whole lot of uncertainty. With my anxiety levels skyrocketing, I knew I needed something to keep me sane
So, instead of endlessly scrolling through TikTok trends, I picked up my long-lost love for crafting. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I had a small business in the making! Creativity became my escape, therapy, and my happy place.
And that, my friend, is exactly what I was up to While in Lockdown. ✨
